SCMUA-WRWMG Partners with Trout Unlimited for Sparta Glen Brook Restoration Project

Monday, February 08, 2016

The SCMUA-WRWMG has partnered with The Fred S. Burroughs North Jersey Chapter of Trout Unlimited to plan and coordinate the riparian planting portion of TU’s Sparta Glen Brook Restoration Project planned for implementation in partnership with Sparta Township and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in April 2016. The purpose of the Glen Brook Restoration Project is to restore in-stream habitat, to prevent erosion along the banks, and to reconnect the brook with the floodplain through riparian plantings. Ultimately, the project aims to reestablish the brook’s ecosystem, helping to restore natural habitat to support trout spawning.

If you or your organization would like to volunteer to help with the project, please contact John Nordstedt at 973-586-9855 or jenord@optonline.net.
