Newton Students and Families Clean Up Memory Park

Monday, October 29, 2018

Newton elementary, middle, and college students and their families worked with the SCMUA-WRWMG to clean up garbage and recycling from Newton’s Memory Park this weekend. In total, the group collected 3 bags of garbage and 4 bags of recycling, preventing the litter from entering the headwaters of the Paulins Kill River that flows through Memory Park.

The clean-up was hosted to celebrate national Make a Difference Day, and it was one of the numerous Paulins Kill litter clean-ups organized in different townships in Sussex and Warren Counties. These Paulins Kill-wide clean-ups help raise awareness about the importance of this river and encourage active volunteer participation among area residents. If you would like to volunteer with the SCMUA-WRWMG, please contact Kristine Rogers at krogers@scmua.org.
