WRWMG’s AmeriCorps NJ Watershed Ambassador Organizes Rain Barrel Workshop

Thursday, May 18, 2017

Amanda Hayes, AmeriCorps NJ Watershed Ambassador for the Wallkill River Watershed, organized a rain barrel workshop at the Fairgrounds for the Master Gardeners of Sussex County. Amanda highlighted the benefits of rain barrels for decreasing the amount of polluted stormwater that enters local streams.

The barrels also help conserve water. They collect rainfall from household rooftops and then the water can be reused to water gardens or wash cars.
