Large, Balled and Burlapped Trees Add Beauty to Memory Park

Friday, November 13, 2015

As part of the Town of Newton’s Community Watershed Restoration Initiative, the WRWMG, worked with Cerbo’s Nursery, representatives from The Nature Conservancy, and volunteers from Sussex County Community College to plant 15 balled and burlapped trees along the baseball field fence line at Memory Park in Newton. The trees were purchased with restoration funding awarded to NJ Audubon to help restore the Paulins Kill watershed. In total, the NJ Audubon’s NFWF funding led to the purchase of approximately 100 large, balled and burlapped trees in addition to wood duck, blue bird, and bat boxes to be installed in different locations throughout the Paulins Kill watershed.
