Helen Morgan Elementary School Students Participate in WRWNG’s TreeHabilitate Program

Sparta elementary school students recently worked with the WRWMG’s Education Specialist as part of the organization’s TreeHabilitate program that provides a native tree to each student to plant at his/her home as a form of stormwater management. Trees help to collect and absorb stormwater runoff which reduces the volume of polluted runoff that would enter local rivers and streams via storm drains. Students have an opportunity to learn about the multiple benefits of trees and then can select the specific species of tree that they would like to plant in their backyards.
