Merriam Ave Students Learn about Nonpoint Source Pollution

Students from Newton’s after school Choose 2 Connect program worked alongside Kristine Rogers of the Wallkill River Watershed Management Group to learn about how pollution enters locals rivers and streams using the EnviroScape model. The presentation built off of information the students learned last month when they completed a science lab to learn about the differences between impervious and pervious surfaces.
These lessons were made possible by funding received from New Jersey Future’s Mainstreaming Green Infrastructure Program.
