The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation has awarded the SCMUA-Wallkill River Watershed Management Group a $238,000 grant to install stormwater management projects at the elementary school, middle school, high school, and community college within Newton, NJ.

This K-college proposal will enable countless student volunteers to assist with project installation and maintenance, all while learning about the importance of using natural systems to help clean polluted stormwater runoff. Some of the projects to be installed at the Newton Schools include rain gardens, bioswales, naturalized stormwater detention basins, tree trenches, and porous asphalt parking lots.
