WRWMG Presents to NJ Corporate Wetlands Restoration Partnership

Monday, June 18, 2018

Kristine Rogers of the Wallkill River Watershed Management Group recently presented about the ongoing success of the Wallkill River reforestation project at the quarterly NJ Corporate Wetlands Restoration Partnership meeting in West Long Branch.

NJCWRP has been an instrumental funding source for the ongoing reforestation work with Sparta High School and Sparta Middle School students. Since 2015, Kristine has organized tree planting opportunities for 944 Sparta student participants, resulting in hands-on, outdoor lab opportunities that will greatly enhance the health of the Wallkill River over time while simultaneously benefitting the students’ educational experience.

NJCWRP is a partnership of private corporations, federal and state government, conservation organizations and academia to protect, enhance and restore important aquatic habitats and water quality in New Jersey.
