Selective Insurance Employees Volunteer along Sussex Branch Trail

Thursday, May 25, 2017

Yesterday, The Nature Conservancy and the Wallkill River Watershed Management Group hosted a tree planting day along the Paulins Kill River for 13 Selective Insurance employees. The workers were given an opportunity to have a paid work day to participate in community service projects throughout the area. The participants worked hard to plant hundreds of containerized trees and shrubs to improve both the water quality and habitat conditions in and around the river. Some of the materials they planted were black willow, American sycamore, river birch, buttonbush, and swamp rose.

TNC and the WRWMG look forward to having Selective Insurance return for a future volunteering event to continue the tradition of corporate participation in the Paulins Kill reforestation corridor project!
